PREP & CLEAN SURFACES
  • • Remove old finishes by using chemical stripper, scrapers and sandpaper as needed.
  • • Sand and clean wood surfaces.
  • • Wear protective gloves, respirator, eyewear and apparel.
  • • Apply TrueTone® T-100 OIL-BASED PRE-STAIN CONDITIONER to reduce blotching and improve uniform coverage especially on softer wood. Follow all label instructions.

APPLYING WOOD STAIN
  • • Shake or stir stain thoroughly prior to and during use.
  • • Test stain color on an inconspicuous area or similar piece of wood.
  • • Grain, wood type and porosity will cause varying results.
  • • Apply TrueTone® T-110 OIL-BASED WOOD STAIN using a good quality natural bristle, nylon/polyester brush, pad or rag in the direction of the grain.
  • • Allow stain to penetrate for 10-30 minutes before wiping with a clean lint-free cloth.
  • • Depth and intensity of color can be increased by longer penetration time and 2 or more coats.
  • • Allow 4 hours to dry between coats.
  • • Topcoats may be applied 12 hours after final stain application.

APPLYING SANDING SEALER & FINISH
  • • Allow stain to completely dry.
  • • Apply a thin even coat of TrueTone® T-160 OIL-BASED SANDING SEALER & FINISH using a good quality natural bristle brush, nylon/polyester or foam brush.
  • • Avoid puddling, overbrushing and overlapping.
  • • Allow 4-6 hours for dry time before topcoat.
  • • Sand lightly with a fine grit (150 220 grit) sand paper.
  • • Remove all dust with a water-dampened cloth.
